Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dinner Cook to join our team at Verve Senior Living. As a key member of our dining services team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality meals that cater to the diverse needs and preferences of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals in accordance with established menus and dietary requirements.
  • Present meals in an attractive and appetizing manner, adhering to food presentation standards.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Supervise and train junior staff members in food preparation and presentation techniques.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of food and supplies.
  • Collaborate with the Dining Services Manager to develop and implement new menu ideas and culinary concepts.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared and presented in accordance with established quality and safety standards.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in large volume food cooking, preparation, and presentation.
  • Graduate of a recognized college food preparation program or equivalent.
  • Certified Red Seal certificate.
  • Valid regional food handler's certificate.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.
  • Strong knife and preparation skills, as well as fundamental baking skills.
