Job Title: Senior Development Officer

Interior Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Senior Development Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in driving strategic portfolio business functions, change, and team development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide proactive consulting services to support the successful execution of strategic portfolio business functions, change, and team development.
  • Lead, consult, design, facilitate, and advise on organization development and/or change as required for organizational teams, committees, planning, and working groups.
  • Analyze the impact of change and develop strategies for integration and implementation in conjunction with clients.
  • Integrate system linkages, diagnose performance and behavioral gaps, and support team development and isolation of team dynamics for interventions.
  • Provide other related L&ODC professional functions such as debriefing of psychometric materials and surveys, coaching, organizational and behavioral analysis, engagement surveys, and other duties as required.
Learning and Development:

The Senior Development Officer will play an integral role in the development and implementation of leadership/change development, mentoring, e-learning, engagement, and coaching services/programs across Interior Health.

Research and support the on-going development of standardized IH OD/change management processes, tools, educational materials, and training and development initiatives to support leaders and their teams across the organization.

Leadership Development:

In coordination with the British Columbia Health Leaders Development Collaborative (BCHLDC) subcommittees, the incumbent will examine and assess new and existing program delivery modalities and present and advocate when necessary, the Interior Health perspective and experience in sub-committee work.

Develop IH-wide training content and schedules.

Leverage and model the use of technology to enable learning, including modalities such as eLearning, web conferencing, and group mentoring.

Education, Training, and Experience:

A Master's Degree in Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology, or a related discipline is required.

A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of experience as an internal or external Organization Development or Change Consultant, Leadership/Learning Specialist/Consultant is required.

Demonstrated ability to provide thought leadership to senior leaders through thinking critically, conceptualizing issues, and systemically addressing them.

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously to initiate and manage consulting workload in a client-centered environment that includes high volume, frequent interruptions, multiple tasks, and shifting priorities and deadlines.

Use recognized qualitative research methods (focus groups, interviews, surveys) to determine appropriate action in addressing systemic issues.

Demonstrated emotional intelligence competencies.

Demonstrated willingness to share experiences and learn to promote an ODC professional development environment.

Demonstrated ability to be resourceful, creative, and promote hope and opportunity.

Demonstrated ability to continuously learn and develop through courses, self-study, feedback, professional associations.

Learning & Development Skills:

Demonstrated competency in adult learning theory, leadership development, needs assessment, and program evaluation.

Demonstrated competency in leadership development program and course development including virtual design and delivery, course facilitation (online and in classroom), and e-learning strategies.

Demonstrated ability to design, assess, implement, and evaluate learning strategies and methodologies based on adult learning principles and practices.
