We are seeking a skilled IT Security Administrator to join our team at Cannara Biotech (Québec) inc. The ideal candidate will have experience in cyber defense and security administration, as well as excellent analytical skills.

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year (based on location and experience).

Job Description

The IT Security Administrator will play a key role in ensuring the security of all components within our organization. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing a comprehensive cyber threat intelligence program;
  • Documenting and maintaining backups, as well as periodically testing recovery procedures;
  • Assisting the IT team with daily administration tasks, including user management, network infrastructure, and technical support;
  • Validating patch management across Windows AD, firewalls, and virtual networks;
  • Identifying new threats and vulnerabilities, anticipating potential attacks, and creating defensive strategies;
  • Working collaboratively with other members of the IT team in the event of a security incident, ensuring timely and effective responses to mitigate and minimize damage;
  • Performing post-incident analysis to identify root causes and implementing preventive measures to prevent recurrence of security incidents;
  • Managing and optimizing the security information and event management system;
  • Designing and implementing a comprehensive threat and vulnerability management program to identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities in our IT infrastructure;
  • Managing vulnerability scanning activity using multiple tools covering network infrastructure and operating systems, while providing a unified view of prioritized threats for remediation activities;
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or any combination of education and equivalent experience;
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field of cyber defense or security administration;
  • In-depth experience with incident response methodologies and frameworks;
  • Experience with automation techniques;
  • Good understanding of threat intelligence principles and practices;
  • High-level understanding of cloud security principles (AWS);
  • Bilingualism (French and English);
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are desired;
  • Ability to work from Montreal, Farnham, and/or Valleyfield facilities.
