About the Role:

At Travelers, we're looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team. As a key member of our HR team, you'll work closely with senior leaders and front-line managers to develop and execute HR plans and strategies that drive business outcomes. This role is responsible for leading HR efforts for assigned client groups, partnering with senior management to develop and execute HR plans and strategies in support of business objectives and outcomes. You'll also manage a small team of more junior HR staff and provide coaching and consultation to senior leaders, front-line managers, and employees to address and mitigate HR issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead HR efforts for assigned client groups, partnering with senior management to develop and execute HR plans and strategies in support of business objectives and outcomes.
  • Manage a small team of more junior HR staff, providing coaching and consultation to senior leaders, front-line managers, and employees to address and mitigate HR issues.
  • Lead activities and strategies around compensation, talent acquisition, employee relations, succession planning, workforce planning, and organizational/leadership development for assigned client groups.
  • Consult and collaborate with COE stakeholders in these disciplines.
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee concerns and issues, providing direct coaching to managers and employees and escalating matters as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with managers and employees to creatively resolve issues.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an HR field (e.g. Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology)
  • 7 years of work experience.
  • Prior experience in the insurance industry a plus.
  • Interpersonal and communication savvy, with the ability to clearly express ideas and recommendations both verbally and in writing.
  • Influencing, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
  • Project management skills, whether you are the lead on a project or serving as a valued team member.
  • The ability to think both tactically and strategically, and translate insights into actions.
  • The ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues across our businesses.
  • The ability to give, receive, and embrace feedback.
  • The ability to proactively seek out and leverage diverse perspectives, and foster inclusive practices.
  • The ability to respond to and effectively manage through change.
  • Sound business acumen and a general understanding of our business lines and products.
