We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for procuring major/critical production commodities and materials, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procure major/critical production commodities and materials, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Document purchase orders and conduct supplier surveillance and audits.
  • Provide inputs into procurement decisions, including make/buy, source selection, and supplier qualifications.
  • Perform buying function for raw materials, focusing on improving supplier quality and lowering costs.
  • Assist Manager with various projects as needed and assess plans and negotiate with key suppliers regarding costs, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Lead supplier issues resolutions, work with Program Manager, Supplier Quality, etc. to resolve supplier quality issues, identify sources for new products, and improve supplier performance.
  • Perform Supply Chain planning strategies and support government purchasing regulations and ensure compliance with all internal requirements.
  • Coordinate risk assessments and execute risk management plans for moderate to high risk procurements.
  • Perform analysis of purchasing needs, including analysis of costs, and forecast requirements, issue periodic reports on trends, and negotiate pricing, discounts, and contracts.
Requirements
  • Over 10 years of related experience in inventory systems, material management, and purchasing.
  • Good understanding of procurement laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
