Job Summary

The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Faculty Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Faculty Development team, you will be responsible for organizing the professional development of Family Practice preceptors in the areas of resident teaching and education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement faculty development programs and resources to support the educational objectives of our Family Practice preceptors.
  • Collaborate with the Faculty Development Portfolio Director to provide program-wide workshops for clinical faculty.
  • Act as a resource for local faculty, providing guidance and support on teaching and education-related matters.
  • Attend and participate in Site Resident Training Committee meetings and other relevant site functions as required.
  • Participate in program-wide and departmental initiatives of the UBC Department of Family Practice.
  • Assist in the selection and recruitment of residents and preceptors.
  • Develop strategies to retain and increase the number of preceptors.
Requirements
  • Membership and certificant of the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
  • Eligible for licensure in B.C.
  • Eligible for Clinical Faculty Appointment through UBC.
  • Significant educational and administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in teaching and working with residents.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 6 hours per week. The appointment is for a one-year term, renewable upon review.
