Job Summary

Fraser Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled 3rd Class Shift Engineer to join our team at Burnaby Hospital. As a key member of our Power Plant operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of steam boilers and ancillary equipment on a shift basis.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the operation of steam boilers and log pressure, temperature, and level readings on an hourly basis.
  • Perform major repairs, alterations, and preventative maintenance on all mechanical, refrigeration, and Power Plant equipment as required.
  • Act as Fire Warden in the absence of the fire marshal and respond to fire alarms as required.
  • Respond to hazardous spills of ethylene oxide, asbestos, and mercury, and contain spills at source.

Qualifications

  • Certificate of competency as a 3rd Class Power Engineer recognized by the Province of B.C.
  • Four years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
