Job Summary

The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Technician to join our Finance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a variety of accounting supports to our growing organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and review sub-ledger and general ledger control accounts.
  • Process journal entries and prepare reports, returns, and remittances for government agencies.
  • Provide training in payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes to ensure seamless coverage for colleagues.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or business administration, with at least 3 years of progressive experience in finance/accounting.
  • Experience in a local government or large organization preferred.
  • Working knowledge of PSAB, Community Charter, and Local Government Act.
  • Experience with Vadim/iCity considered an asset.
  • Significant skill with Microsoft Excel and proficient skill with other Microsoft products.
  • Demonstrated ability to act with tact and diplomacy while working with the public and coworkers.
