Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, specifying, testing, and validating electrical components and products to ensure they meet project requirements while maintaining compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate project requirements into engineering specifications.
  • Design, specify, test, and validate electrical components and products.
  • Conduct formal engineering risk assessments and make recommendations.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Estimate cost and time required to complete various design activities.
  • Collaborate with design engineering peers and contribute to design reviews.
  • Work with cross-functional teams during special projects.
  • Partner with test engineering to establish test plans and define test protocols.
  • Provide engineering support to sales, QA, production, purchasing, installation, and service.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation in accordance with industry standards.
  • Develop solutions in line with 80/20 principles.
  • Product line simplification, material cost reduction, and client line simplification.
  • Respect and protect all proprietary information generated at Conviron.
Requirements
  • Experience designing high-voltage systems up to 600V and three-phase applications.
  • Experience designing control systems.
  • Proficient in 3D modeling (Solidworks experience is an asset).
  • Experience designing electrical systems and understanding codes in NA, EU, and/or Australia is an asset.
Desired Qualifications
  • B.Sc in Electrical Engineering.
  • 15 years of experience in electrical design.
