About the Opportunity

  1. Manage all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, time tracking, payroll, and general ledger
  2. Oversee bookkeeping function, ensuring quality control over financial transactions and reporting
  3. Establish and monitor guidelines around cost accounting, pricing, revenue recognition, and job profitability
  4. Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations
  5. Evaluate and develop business protocols to increase process efficiencies, maintain and strengthen internal controls
  6. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  7. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
  8. Manage banking, debtor, and significant vendor relationships
  9. Coordinate with fractional CFO, legal counsel, accounting, tax, and other outsourced resources
  10. Manage and comply with government reporting requirements, HST, and corporate tax filings
  11. Address all other IT and systems-related issues as they arise
  12. Ad hoc projects as they arise

About You

  1. Advanced degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
  2. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller or Director of Finance in the marketing, advertising, print media, or manufacturing sectors
  3. 6+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  4. Demonstrated experience in optimizing workflow and process systems, and managing resources
  5. Strong analytical and communication skills
  6. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  7. Proficiency in MS Office and QuickBooks accounting software

Salary Range

$140,000 to $155,000/year
