High-Paying Diesel Mechanic Position in Chatham, Ontario

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking an experienced and licensed diesel mechanic to join our team in Chatham, Ontario. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex issues with tractor-trailer equipment.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake checks, and tire rotations
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals
• Inspect and test vehicles to identify potential problems before they become major issues
• Collaborate with other technicians to resolve complex repairs
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and regulations
Requirements
• 5+ years of experience in heavy truck maintenance and repair
• Valid provincial license (Red Seal/310T) and membership with respective government agencies
• Current driver's license class D or class 3 with air brake certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• Proficiency in using all tools of trade, including welding equipment, diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software and systems
• Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions and regular, predictable attendance
• Willingness to travel to customers' yards, training sites, and other locations as required
Benefits
• Competitive salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience
