Transportation Operations Manager

This role is responsible for overseeing the transportation department of one or more locations within a designated geography. The Transportation Operations Manager will provide leadership within assigned locations and act as a liaison between customers, operations, customer service representatives, and support teams.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and manage inventory supplies to ensure adequate levels are maintained at all times.
- Manage route scheduling to ensure all scheduled customers are serviced by the end of the day. Redirect manpower and resources as needed to address operational difficulties.
- Manage driver debrief process for every route, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
- Maintain high standards of customer service, measured by key metrics such as on-time delivery, missed stops, loyalty, and open order resolution.
- Monitor operations and staff, recommending changes in methods, procedures, structure, and personnel to optimize resource utilization.
- Review payroll hours to ensure overtime is necessary and employees are working efficiently.
- Manage company equipment and assets, including route vehicles, containers, load bars, straps, hand-trucks, PDAs, printers, and other assets.
- Monitor routes to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Preferred Education: High School or Equivalent
- Required Years of Experience: 2-4 years
- Years of Management Experience: 0-2 years (for management roles)
The estimated annual salary range for this position is approximately $70,000 - $90,000, based on industry standards and location.
