At Immigrate, we're committed to providing exceptional transportation services across Saskatoon and beyond. As a Freight Transportation Specialist, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods and materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and drive trucks on local routes and short interurban routes to transport goods and materials.
  • Manage long-combination vehicles weighing over 4500 kg to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories to ensure they're in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Administer bills of lading and manually or electronically maintain log books to track shipments.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, other drivers, and customers using communication devices and onboard computers.

You will also be responsible for performing minor emergency roadside repairs and may transport hazardous products or dangerous goods as part of your duties.

Requirements
  • A valid Class 1A license is required.
  • An acceptable driver's abstract with no more than two incidents in three years.
  • Punctuality and attention to detail are essential for this role.
  • Mechanical aptitude and a positive attitude are also necessary for success in this position.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well as part of a team are crucial.
  • The ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly is also required.

Licensed Combination Vehicle (LCV) experience is an asset, but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $25.86 per hour, guaranteed by law. In addition, our drivers can earn more based on mileage, with the greater of either .52 single per mile or .55 LCV per mile paid. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, short and long-term disability insurance, as well as life insurance after three months (50/50 employer-employee contribution). We also offer a pension plan after one year of service.
