About the Opportunity

Foremost is seeking a skilled Welder (Journeyman & Apprentice) to join our team at our north facility in Lloydminster, Alberta. This role will work closely with Lead Hands, Charge Hands, and Foremen to ensure continuous improvements using SMAW, MCAW, GMAW, FCAW, and semi-automatic welding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

∙ Interpret blueprints and welding process specifications to ensure accurate and efficient welding operations

∙ Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, including gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shield metal arc welding (SMAW), and metal core arc welding (MCAW)

∙ Maintain and operate flame-cutting and plasma arc cutting equipment to prepare parts for welding

∙ Conduct repairs, modifications, and retrofits to ensure high-quality welds

∙ Align components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (flat, vertical, horizontal, or overhead)

∙ Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify any flaws or defects

∙ Operate metal shaping machines, such as brake, shears, and hydraulic band saw, to prepare parts for welding

∙ Monitor parts usage and report any material issues to ensure efficient operations

∙ Stay up-to-date with changes in technology, compliance, and repair techniques to ensure best practices

∙ Ensure compliance with Industry, Legislative, and corporate Safety policies and procedures

∙ Assist in training and directing less-experienced personnel with work methods, work habits, and performance

∙ Recommend improvements to quality and production costs to enhance overall efficiency

Requirements:

∙ High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

∙ AB (or SK) Registered Apprentice or Journeyman trade certificate

∙ Previous experience in tank fabrication is an asset

∙ CWB tickets are considered an asset

∙ Safety training is an asset, but willingness to train is required

∙ Highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills and able to work effectively in a diverse, fast-paced environment
