Job Summary

The Industrial Millwright is responsible for maintaining and improving plant facilities, machinery, and control systems, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees. Key responsibilities include preventative, corrective, and redesign maintenance, as well as new equipment installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair critical equipment, perform preventive and predictive maintenance, and ensure optimum plant operation by protecting daily production and maintenance schedules and achieving daily planned work targets.
  • Apply technical knowledge and skills to repair and perform maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment, including CNC controlled punching shearing and material transportation systems, overhead and wall cranes, fluid and air power systems and controls, band saws, welding feeders and power supplies, and roll forming lines.
  • Support spare parts inventory and work order business processes and quality of data collected in the database.
  • Maintain a safe, neat, and clean working environment and comply with all legislated and company health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervision.
Qualifications
  • Licensed 433A Millwright certification.
  • Working knowledge of MIG/ARC welding.
  • Experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment would be an asset.
  • Working knowledge of lathe, milling machine, grinder, and hand tools.
  • Confident with reading and interpreting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Ability to communicate, read, and write in English is a must.
  • Familiar with working at heights and lock-out tag-out procedures.
  • Ability to generate improvement solutions through root cause analysis to eliminate repeat failures.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
Physical Demands

The ability to stand continuously is essential, with frequent walking and occasional sitting. The nature of the position requires performing a wide range of physical activities, including pushing and pulling, lifting and carrying heavy objects (50 – 100 lb), climbing, crouching, kneeling, bending, and handling.

Work Environment

Constant exposure to a steel fabrication environment and regular exposure to weather conditions, excessive noise levels, and vibrations. Often works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to fumes and airborne particles. Working at heights using aerial work platforms, working near energized systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical.
