Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at Shearer's Foods. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and implementing our quality assurance, food safety, and sanitation programs across our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and implement quality assurance, food safety, and sanitation programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Develop and maintain quality objectives, aligning them with production and corporate objectives to maximize food safety, product quality, and minimize costs.
  • Manage and maintain quality procedures and processes, ensuring adherence to documented policies and regulatory standards.
  • Investigate and respond to customer complaints, tracking emerging issues and trends, and engaging relevant functions and process owners to resolve.
  • Develop and analyze statistical quality data for specification compliance, continuous improvement, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead the plant food safety crisis team and serve as the plant liaison for regulatory inspections, ensuring timely completion of traceability exercises and meeting reconciliation goals.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in quality assurance, food safety, and sanitation, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or management position in a plant of similar complexity and size.
  • Leader of Change and Strategic Thinking, with broad knowledge and experience in quality and food safety management gained at successive levels of responsibility in a plant atmosphere.
  • Certifications required include Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI), SQF Practitioner or other GFSI standard, and HACCP.
  • Knowledge of FDA standards and FSMA Regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct, coach, and train associates, as well as plan, monitor, and schedule work.
  • Lead and able to demonstrate 'Best in Class' behaviors with focus on food safety, quality assurance, and plant regulatory compliance.
