You will be responsible for performing various functions, including specimen handling, data entry, and media preparation, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who is highly motivated, organized, and able to work effectively in a team environment. You will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant Program or equivalent
  • Current registration with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Manual dexterity to handle sharp instruments and small objects
  • Ability to accurately number/label specimens and file slides/requisitions
  • Ability to adapt to updates/changes in operating procedures
  • Basic computer skills, Meditech experience is preferred
  • Access to reliable transportation as travel may be required
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours

This is a casual, short and long assignment and permanent position available. Shifts may include days, nights, weekends and holidays. Travel to various sites may be required.

Compensation and Incentives

$26.27 Hourly
