Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support in the laboratory setting, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process blood, tissue, and other samples from patients
  • Set up and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety
  • Perform quality control and quality assurance tasks to ensure accurate test results
  • Process incoming requisitions and maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure smooth laboratory operations
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as medical laboratory technology or a related science
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a medical laboratory
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
