Prepared Foods Team Lead

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Prepared Foods Team Lead to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our prepared foods department, you will be responsible for leading a team of team members to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales growth.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a high-performing team of team members to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets.
- Develop and maintain creative store layouts and product merchandising to drive sales and customer engagement.
- Work closely with the team leader to analyze sales, reports, and labor to inform business decisions.
- Demonstrate advanced product knowledge and stay up-to-date on new products and promotions.
- Maintain good vendor relationships and ensure all paperwork is properly submitted for vendor processing.
- Work with the team leader to resolve team concerns or issues and foster a positive team environment.
- Function as the point person and departmental person in charge in the absence of the team leader.
- Set and achieve the highest standards of retail execution and customer service.
- Communicate and model the company's vision and goals to team members and customers.
- Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs and direct team members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers.
- 18+ months retail team member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.
- High energy, enthusiastic, and displays an affinity for our products, core values, and company philosophy.
- Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.
- Capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner.
- Product knowledge and advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
- Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory.
- Demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate.
- Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
- May require use of ladders.
