About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Supreme Sprinklers Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our grounds and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement effective grounds maintenance strategies to ensure our facilities are well-maintained and visually appealing.
  • Manage Labour and Materials: Estimate and manage labour and materials required for grounds maintenance projects, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
  • Supervise Construction Projects: Oversee the construction of decks, decorative or retaining walls, and other landscape features, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Manage Work Records and Logs: Maintain accurate records and logs of grounds maintenance activities, including equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Tender and Administer Contracts: Source and manage contracts for grounds maintenance services, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Read Blueprints and Drawings: Interpret blueprints and drawings to inform grounds maintenance projects and ensure accurate execution.
  • Repair and Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on grounds maintenance equipment, ensuring optimal performance and extending equipment lifespan.
  • Requisition Materials and Supplies: Source and procure materials and supplies required for grounds maintenance projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
  • Resolve Work Problems and Provide Technical Advice: Troubleshoot and resolve grounds maintenance-related issues, providing technical guidance and recommendations to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Supervise Nursery and Greenhouse Workers: Lead and mentor nursery and greenhouse workers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement efficient work schedules and procedures to ensure seamless grounds maintenance operations.
Requirements
  • 3-4 Years of Experience: Proven experience in grounds maintenance, landscape construction, or a related field.
  • Strong Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and motivate a team of grounds maintenance staff.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads, and standing for extended periods.
