Black & McDonald is seeking a skilled Plumber Service Technician to join our Service Division in a dynamic role that requires a strong work ethic, technical expertise, and excellent customer service skills. If you are a hands-on professional with a passion for the trade, this position is ideal for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance activities on commercial plumbing and heating equipment, including boilers, pumps, furnaces, and water filtration systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex plumbing and heating systems, identifying and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Organize and execute small re-pipe, retrofit, and tenant improvement projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Document maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities, including service and repair recommendations, using our mobile service reporting application.
  • Compile accurate labor and material take-offs for work recommendations and materials ordering.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to complete tasks efficiently, on time, and on budget.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and team members through various channels.
  • Participate in rotating 24/7 emergency on-call support.

Education Requirements

  • Red Seal Plumbing Trade Qualification
  • B-Gas Certification
  • Cross Connection Control Certification
  • A-Gas Certification (considered an asset)
  • WHIMIS, SCOTT, R&R, Mobile Aerial Platform Training, Fall Protection Training, Confined Space Training (considered an asset)

Work Experience Requirements

  • Relevant Industry Experience (required)
  • Consideration may be given to those who do not possess all the above requirements if they demonstrate a strong work ethic, passion for the trade, and a desire to learn.

Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements

  • Clean Class 5 SK Driver's License and abstract
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and mobile device applications
