The Service Technician will be responsible for performing planned maintenance activities on commercial plumbing and heating equipment, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, and executing small re-pipe, retrofit, and tenant improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance on commercial plumbing and heating systems, including boilers, pumps, furnaces, hot water tanks, make-up air units, water filtration systems, and backflow devices.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with commercial plumbing and heating systems, and perform repairs as needed.
- Organize and execute small re-pipe, retrofit, and tenant improvement projects, including layout and execution.
- Complete daily service reports documenting maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities, including service and repair recommendations.
- Compile accurate labor and material take-offs for work recommendations and materials ordering.
- Work independently or as part of a team to complete work efficiently, on time, and on budget.
- Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and team members via phone, text, and email.
- Participate in rotating 24/7 emergency on-call support.
- Red Seal Plumbing Trade Qualification
- B-Gas Certification
- Cross Connection Control Certification
- A-Gas Certification (considered an asset)
- WHIMIS, SCOTT, R&R, Mobile Aerial Platform Training, Fall Protection Training, Confined Space Training (considered an asset)
- Relevant industry experience
- Strong work ethic, passion for the trade, and desire to learn
- Clean Class 5 SK Driver's License and abstract
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor with fellow employees, customers, and stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and mobile device applications
