Software Build Engineer

This is a remarkable opportunity to become part of a well-established indie game studio with a decade of experience, recognized for fostering enduring partnerships with AAA game developers. While we value in-person collaboration, we also offer flexible remote and hybrid work arrangements.
We are seeking a highly proficient Build & Release Engineer who is eager to contribute their knowledge to facilitate and deliver builds to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless release processes.
You should have a strong passion for game development and take ownership of the build process, possessing a solid understanding of build pipelines and a desire to assist the team in achieving their development objectives.
Your key responsibilities will include -
- Supporting the design and orchestration of deployment workflows, as well as executing deployments.
- Enhancing and refining the technical build pipeline using C#; automating and optimizing the build system and associated tools.
- Acting as a technical liaison with the development team to resolve build-related issues and implement improvements.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams and QA on releases, updates, and patches.
- Assisting in the integration process, emergent tasks, and deployments.
- Upholding industry best practices in DevOps and Continuous Integration through sound coding practices and engaging in code reviews.
Your professional qualifications include -
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in build engineering, particularly with consoles and third-party collaborations in a AAA game studio, ideally with Unreal Engine 4/5.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C#/Java/OOP.
- Automation and scripting skills using tools like Groovy, Python, bash, or similar.
- Experience with automated build systems such as Jenkins, TeamCity, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Perforce or similar version control systems.
- Experience with project management tools like JIRA or equivalent.
