Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned quantitative risk manager to join our Model Risk Management Team as a Senior Manager. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the validation of credit risk models and provide effective challenge to model developers, owners, and users.

Main Responsibilities

  • You will perform model risk reviews, assessing model appropriateness and capability for designated portfolios, ensuring transparency and understanding of models and model risks.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement is crucial in this position, requiring strong communication skills to manage relationships with model developers, owners, and users, influencing and advising on model risk-related matters.
  • This role involves project management, recommending business priorities, advising on resource requirements, and developing roadmaps for strategic execution.
  • You will be part of the team driving change by embracing new technology platforms, tools, and operating models.
  • As a subject matter expert, you will act on relevant regulations and policies.
  • Your ability to connect technical issues with business considerations will be essential in this role.

Requirements

  • A postgraduate degree in quantitative fields such as statistics, mathematics, financial mathematics, data science, actuarial sciences or related fields.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in model development, validation, or governance within a financial institution, particularly in the credit risk area.
  • Experience in credit risk models, including AIRB, Stress Testing & loss forecasting, and Adjudication.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, and SAS.
  • Working with relational databases – SQL or Oracle – is also necessary.
  • Experience with Big data tools and Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is a plus.

What We Offer

Our team values flexibility, collaboration, and in-person engagement. This position is based in Toronto and offers a hybrid work arrangement where the successful candidate will spend at least 2 days per week on-site and the other days remote.

Compensation Package

The estimated salary for this position is $92,400 - $171,600 annually. Our compensation package may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
