Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and chronic renal conditions. This will involve working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and monitoring patient vital signs.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop individualized care plans to address these needs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in the field.
  • Assume unit leadership and charge responsibilities as needed, providing guidance and support to other team members.
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
  • Medical-Surgical Nursing experience within the past three years.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. (18kg) and attend Hemodialysis training in Edmonton or Red Deer.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Recent acute and chronic Hemodialysis and or nephrology nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of case management.

Please note that this is a float position between the Red Deer and Rocky Mountain House Hemodialysis Units. The successful candidate will be required to attend Hemodialysis training in Edmonton or Red Deer, and will be expected to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.
