Job Title: Nurse Practitioner - Extendicare Michener Hill

At Extendicare Canada Inc., we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Extendicare Michener Hill. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Job Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner will work in collaboration with our Nursing Leadership team and Physicians to provide comprehensive health services to our residents. This includes conducting health assessments, diagnosing medical conditions, ordering tests and treatments, and participating in inter-disciplinary team conferences and quality improvement projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough health assessments and develop individualized care plans for residents
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and treatments
  • Participate in inter-disciplinary team conferences and quality improvement projects
  • Collaborate with the Nursing Leadership team and Physicians to ensure seamless care delivery
Requirements:
  • Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in a long-term care setting is an asset
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
