About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team at Horizon Canada Inc. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment and networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Installation and Maintenance
    • Install, arrange, remove, and maintain telephone equipment, wiring, and associated hardware.
    • Inspect the operation of telecommunications equipment and identify any faults or issues.
  • Repair and Troubleshooting
    • Diagnose and locate equipment faults, and adjust, replace, or repair telecommunications equipment.
    • Test installed telephone systems to locate transmission faults and analyze test results to determine the cause of the issue.
  • Network Installation and Maintenance
    • Install electromechanical, analog, and digital trunking systems, circuits, and equipment in telecommunications central offices and switching centers.
    • Operate computerized testing systems to conduct service tests on customer lines and equipment.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries and concerns.
    • Complete and maintain test and service reports to ensure accurate documentation of work completed.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in telecommunications equipment installation and maintenance.
  • Skills
    • Ability to distinguish between colors.
    • Manual dexterity.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Work Environment

This is a permanent full-time position with a 37.5 hour workweek. The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Language

The primary language of work is English.
