Job Summary

Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital (OSMH) is seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our Paediatrics Diabetes and Bariatric Centre team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality professional nutritional care and counseling to assigned patients, consistent with the hospital's philosophy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Nutrition Care: Assess individual needs and extent of nutrition care required, plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate nutrition care provided, promote self-care, and collaborate with other team members.
  • Resource Management: Familiarize yourself with hospital policies, standards, and objectives, participate in program development, and strive to improve program efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Communication: Collaborate with healthcare agencies and professionals, provide nutritional consultative support, maintain confidentiality, and act as a consultant to health professionals and the public.
  • Professional Development: Maintain certification and licensure, attend workshops and conferences, and participate in continuing education programs.
Requirements
  • Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field and a graduate of an Accredited Dietetic Internship program.
  • Current membership in the Ontario College of Dietitians.
  • Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) status preferred/achieved within 1 year of employment.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience working within a Paediatrics setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of chronic disease prevention and management, computer literacy, and strong communication skills.
