Job Title: Social Worker 2

Job Summary:

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a highly skilled Social Worker 2 to join our Complex Care and Recovery Program. As a member of our interprofessional team, you will provide client-centered psychiatric care and relevant social work services to clients with serious mental illness and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized, focused, goal-oriented support to clients to facilitate stabilization of symptoms in a less restrictive environment.
  • Work with the interprofessional team to develop, implement, and evaluate the interprofessional plan of client care for clients.
  • Offer individual and group counseling support to clients to help them meet their recovery goals.
  • Liaise with other services in the Complex Care and Recovery Program and the community to coordinate care and refer clients to appropriate services and resources.
  • Conduct family assessments, offer family education, and provide counseling and support to families.

Requirements:

  • Masters of Social Work degree and certification with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
  • Three years' experience working in a mental health setting.
  • Strong knowledge of and ability to apply principles of crisis intervention, experience in a mental health/addiction setting, knowledge of recovery, and understanding of concurrent disorders and its impact on this population.
  • Ability to intervene effectively in clinical situations requiring the management of disturbed behavior and possess effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders within and outside CAMH.
