Job Summary

A Crew Chief at Paul Davis is a critical leadership role that requires a high level of expertise and experience in disaster response and mitigation. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of technicians and laborers in responding to emergency situations, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Represent the company's principles of honesty and integrity
    • Act as the point person and first responder for all emergency losses
    • Maintain a leadership role within the department, across all crew chiefs, technicians, and laborers
    • Lead by example and set the highest standards for the department
  • Emergency Response
    • Establish and implement the scope of work to be accomplished
    • Coordinate, supervise, and participate in all emergency work assigned to their crew
    • Oversee equipment maintenance and expendables
    • Act as the lead communicator with management and customers
  • Training and Development
    • Conduct crew training in customer service, policies and procedures, best practices, and recommend training opportunities
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance crew skills and knowledge
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
    • Identify and report hazards and apply safe work methods
  • Communication and Customer Service
    • Act as a liaison between the team and clients, ensuring clear and effective communication
    • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure that all customer needs are met
    Requirements
    • Valid Ontario G class Driver's License and a clean driving record
    • Police check required before employment commences and must be maintained while employed
    • Industry-specific certifications, such as IICRC or Asbestos Worker certification
    • Knowledge of practices and procedures of water, fire, and mold trades
    • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve independently and in collaboration with management
    • Ability to keep abreast of techniques and preventative maintenance of equipment
    • Ability to use and maintain hand, power, and truck-mounted tools
    • Ability to develop, learn, and properly apply operating and work procedures
    • Ability to plan and organize work
    • Ability to meet predetermined deadlines
    • Ability to safely move and relocate heavy objects
    • Ability to exercise judgment when to act independently and when to refer situations to management
    • Ability to work flexible hours or shifts
    • Ability to coach, mentor, and train crew chiefs to develop their skills and industry knowledge
