Job Title: Gas Field Certifier/Inspector

Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Gas Field Certifier/Inspector to join our team at CSA Group. As a key member of our Product Group, you will be responsible for performing analysis of appliance conformity, evaluating gas train schematics, and analyzing appliance operation characteristics.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis of appliance conformity according to CSA B149.3 code and other applicable requirements.
  • Evaluate gas train schematics and electrical schematics to ensure compliance with code requirements.
  • Analyze appliance operation characteristics, including burner operation and airflow.
  • Request modifications or additions to appliances to meet code requirements.
  • Communicate with customers to provide efficient follow-ups and ensure understanding of findings.
  • Perform on-site inspections to verify installation compliance with CSA B149.3 code requirements.
  • Verify piping, gas train components, control panel components, and installation compliance with schematics.
  • Perform tests and verifications on appliances during on-site inspections.
  • Write non-conformance reports and send them to customers, if applicable.
  • Affix Special Inspection Label when appliances comply with code requirements.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma in Technology or equivalent, or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Five to ten years of experience in a related field, with experience in combustion and/or service and thermodynamic and industrial processes.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics.
  • Knowledge of CSA standards and codes (B149.1 and B149.3).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent decision-making and organizational skills, self-starter, problem-solving ability.
  • Bilingualism (English-French, written and spoken) is essential.
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook).

  • Available to travel with a valid passport and clean driver's license.
