About the Role

BrainStation is a global leader in digital skills training and workforce transformation. We are seeking a highly skilled Data Science Educator to join our team and teach our 12-week Data Science Diploma program.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver lectures on data science topics, including machine learning, data visualization, and statistical modeling.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with industry standards and BrainStation's educational goals.
  • Provide expert technical guidance to students and facilitate in-class activities, group discussions, and demos.
  • Collaborate with other educators to create a world-class educational experience for students.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data science and apply this knowledge to teaching and curriculum development.
  • Actively participate in the development of BrainStation's digital education platform and tools.
  • Contribute to the creation of a culture of learning and development within BrainStation.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or Analytics professional and a Bachelor's degree relevant to the subject matter OR 8+ years of work experience in the vocation.
  • Strong command of querying and programming languages (SQL, R, and Python) and visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, matplotlib/seaborn/plotly in Python packages).
  • Experience applying various methods of numerical and categorical modeling techniques and supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods.
  • Hands-on development experience working with version control systems (we use Git) and Big Data and Cloud platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud (GCP)).
  • Practical experience designing and applying data science processes to conduct experiments using a variety of tools and methods.
  • Experience building and leading technical teams.
  • Experience in a teaching role and are comfortable speaking to large groups and mentoring others on the job.
  • A strong work ethic with the utmost integrity and desire to excel and succeed.

The estimated compensation for this position is $85,000 to $110,000. This is an estimate and a compensation offer will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, and alignment with market data.
