Brown and Caldwell is seeking a highly skilled Design Coordinator to support projects in our Western Business Unit.
This role will be based in our Vancouver office, with hybrid work arrangements available.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist project managers, design managers, and project analysts with design-related project kick-off activities, including work breakdown structures, project management plans, and project schedules.
- Coordinate the production of digital and hardcopy design submittals, including reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Produce and oversee specifications, including formatting, tracking, and cross-referencing.
- Create and maintain master specification lists, drawing lists, action item lists, and other design-related lists and logs.
- Partner with design managers to ensure design submittals meet internal performance requirements and maintain documentation of QA/QC.
- Create and manage internal project design, QC, and deliverable schedules.
- Maintain internal and external project collaboration sites for continuous communication and document management.
- Coordinate construction administration tasks, including preparing addenda and conformed documents.
- Assist with daily local project and national design needs, as assigned by design managers and project managers.
- Minimum two years' experience in a professional office setting, with experience in project coordination and construction specification standards preferred.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, with skills in Power Point, Project, SharePoint, Bluebeam, and ProjectWise a plus.
- Ability to anticipate project needs and work independently.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with senior managers and technical staff.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a desire to learn and grow in the role.
