About This Role


We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our Civil & Infrastructure Operations team at Pomerleau Construction.


This is a key project role where you will manage the purchasing of various materials required by our office and worksite needs, supporting our large-scale building and infrastructure projects.


Your Key Responsibilities



  • Manage the placing of purchase orders and acquisition of construction site materials and warehouse consumables for our local projects.
  • Conduct research on new product innovations and suppliers throughout Canada to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor and reconcile delivery notes with purchase orders and approve invoices.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best quotes possible and build strong relationships.
  • Collaborate with our logistics team to organize the transportation of materials as needed.
  • Plan product groupings for annual agreements to optimize our purchasing strategy.

Qualifications and Requirements



  • A degree in procurement management, accounting, and management, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • 1-3 years of experience in procurement or a related field, preferably in construction or a hardware store environment.
  • Strong Excel skills to manage and track our purchasing activities.
  • Expertise in construction materials and tools.
