Role Overview

As a seasoned Senior Project Manager, you will oversee multiple project teams and manage a diverse portfolio of large-scale building and infrastructure projects, from inception to completion. Your expertise will be sought by project teams to troubleshoot any issues that arise during the project lifecycle, and you will be expected to recommend innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring timely and budget-friendly project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants, and clients to achieve project goals and vision;
  • Support project management teams to develop and drive the construction schedule, ensuring completion dates and milestones are met;
  • Recommend innovative construction methodologies to increase effectiveness and efficiency, ensuring project excellence;
  • Ensure compliance with the company's Quality Program;
  • Apply financial management expertise to plan, manage, and respect project budgets, costs, and associated purchasing;
  • Share knowledge and serve as a role model through mentorship opportunities with project team members;
  • Serve as an expert in risk management to minimize project risk;
  • Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety, and Environmental Protection on assigned projects;
  • Effectively apply project-specific safety standards to promote the company's HSE standards, applicable OH&S acts, regulations, and codes with all employees and trade partners on the project;
  • Celebrate project success and completion, serving as a key member of the project close-out process.

Qualifications

As the ideal candidate, you are an experienced and driven construction/project manager, adept at managing a portfolio of projects, ranging in size and scope. You have demonstrated expertise supporting multiple projects simultaneously from the pre-construction phase to project close-out. Most importantly, you are an excellent and approachable leader, team player, and natural communicator who will maintain client satisfaction as a top priority at all times.

Qualifications include:

  • Civil Engineering or Construction Project Management degree/diploma from an accredited institution (a combination of education and industry experience would also be considered);
  • Minimum 10 years' experience working as a project manager in the general contracting or construction management sector;
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client, project, and technical issues to bring the project to successful completion;
  • Strong knowledge of construction project methodologies, financial management, building codes, and relevant legislation;
  • Serve as a role model with regards to health and safety, as well as quality;
  • A passion for building and nurturing exceptional stakeholder relationships;
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills are required;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with individuals of various disciplines.
