About the Role

The Manitoba Government is seeking a highly skilled Victim Services Worker to join our team in Winnipeg. As a key member of our organization, you will provide critical support services to victims of crime, ensuring they receive the necessary assistance and guidance throughout the justice system.

Job Summary

This challenging role requires a dedicated individual with a strong background in social services, case management, and trauma support. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, providing counseling, and developing safety plans for victims of domestic violence, child abuse, and other serious crimes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview and assess victims of crime to identify their needs and develop personalized support plans
  • Provide short-term counseling and risk assessments to ensure victim safety
  • Guide victims through the complexities of the justice system, interpreting legislation and policies as needed
  • Collaborate with community agencies to provide referrals and resources for victims
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess a Bachelor of Social Work degree or equivalent, along with extensive experience in case management and working with trauma-affected individuals. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $62,337 - $88,646 per year, commensurate with experience.
