Hospital Security Officer Position with Evening Shift

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hospital Security Officer to join our team at McLean Hospital. This part-time position will involve working evening shifts, ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide protective services to people and property, responding to routine and emergency calls for service.
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the department, performing daily operational functions as directed by the Security Supervisor or Dispatcher.
- Utilize strong customer service skills and community policing philosophies to develop and build strong relationships with the hospital community.
- Conduct initial investigations into all reports of suspicious activity, persons, hazards, or risk, taking necessary steps to mitigate risk to patients, visitors, and staff.
- Perform Dispatch and/or Console duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager, coordinating security activities and acting as liaison to other McLean departments and external agencies.
- Perform all services in accordance with the appropriate McLean Policy and Procedure Manual.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a high school diploma required; a strong educational background in criminal justice or related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 1-3 years of security or related experience preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts Driver's License.
- Must obtain and maintain required certification in CPR/AED/First Aid, CPI De-Escalation Training, and International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Officer Certification within the first 90 days.
