SalaryThe estimated salary for this position is $87,000-$104,400. This competitive compensation package reflects the successful candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as the demands of the role in North Vancouver.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Technical Project Leader to join our engineering team in North Vancouver. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the delivery of engineering work from concept through basic design, functional design, detail design, planning, construction, and acceptance. Your primary goal will be to ensure that all engineering scope of work for assigned projects is completed within budget and on schedule.
- Apply a project management approach to complete design, pre-production, and production support activities, including work performed by major subcontractors, and ensure efficient delivery of engineering outputs.
- Assist the Manager, Project Engineering and Senior Project Engineers to develop project control documents and assessment of Control Account Management data of engineering scope for assigned projects.
- Conduct regular analyses of engineering performance and proactively identify and address variances.
- Help drive timely closure of technical issues, risks, and opportunities raised by the project, ensuring that all engineering deliverables and inputs to other collaborators are achieved and meet (or exceed) commitments.
- Ensure application of an appropriate engineering maturity management culture and lifecycle management, aligned with project objectives.
In addition, you will help coordinate Gate Reviews (Design Reviews) conducted at appropriate points during the project lifecycle.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo succeed in this role, you should possess a relevant bachelor's degree in engineering or a scientific subject area, or have similar experience with a strong technical background. A minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering or technical project management, preferably with knowledge of ship/maritime systems or specialized knowledge of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, communications, or a related domain, is also required. Additionally, you should be working towards your Professional Engineer certification with a recognized institution or be a certified Professional Engineer already.
- Rlevant bachelor's degree in engineering or a scientific subject area or similar experience with a strong technical background.
- 2+ years of experience in Engineering or Technical Project Management, preferably with knowledge of ship/maritime systems or specialized knowledge of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, communications, or a related domain.
- Working towards their PMP Certification.
