About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at The Royal Mental Health Centre. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing individualized care to adult clients in our Secure Treatment Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and develop personalized treatment plans for clients.
  • Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions, promoting social skills, independence, and overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans that address clients' physical, emotional, and cognitive needs.
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families, promoting recovery and empowerment.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of recovery-based programs for clients with serious mental illness.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the advancement of occupational therapy practice.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Experience working with adult populations, preferably in a psychiatric setting.
  • Strong leadership and facilitation skills, with experience leading group therapy sessions.
  • Knowledge of community resources and ability to connect clients with relevant services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to quality care and patient-centered practice.
