Job Title: Occupational Therapist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at The Royal Mental Health Centre. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing individualized occupational therapy assessment and treatment to adult clients in our Secure Treatment Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to identify client needs and goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to promote client independence and well-being.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate treatment groups and ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of recovery-based programs for adult psychiatric populations.
  • Provide student supervision and mentorship to support the growth and development of junior staff members.
  • Participate in clinical and program meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration with colleagues.
  • Liaise with community agencies to ensure seamless care transitions and coordination.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in occupational therapy, preferably with adult psychiatric populations.
  • Experience in developing and leading psycho-educational and therapeutic groups is essential.
  • Membership in the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and/or Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for work purposes.
