Job Summary:

The Grounds Maintenance Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to complete grounds maintenance service contracts. This includes operating tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Aid in the loading and unloading of trucks and trailers
  • Perform lawn care duties, including cutting grass, trimming edges, and cleaning up refuse
  • Move and install soil, mulch, and plant material for landscape gardens and related areas
  • Spray and dust areas to control insects and weeds
  • Operate power equipment, including lawn tractors, mowers, and trimmers
  • Conduct daily inspections and maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment
  • Assist the foreperson with other work-related duties, including construction projects and shop maintenance

Requirements:

  • Minimum one year experience in the landscape or construction industry
  • Ability to operate required equipment and tools safely and responsibly
  • Effective communication skills and ability to follow verbal instructions
  • Time management skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to walk, stand, and crouch for long periods and perform strenuous physical tasks
