Job Summary

RT Medical is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team. As an RPN, you will provide high-quality patient care in a long-term care facility setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Monitor and assess residents' health conditions.
  • Provide wound care and assist with dressing changes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
  • Educate residents and their families about health conditions and treatments.
  • Ensure residents' safety and comfort.
  • Document residents' health status and care provided.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide immediate care as needed.
Requirements
  • Diploma from a recognized RPN program or equivalent.
  • Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Experience working in a long-term care or retirement home setting is considered an asset.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel, and reach, ability to lift 50lbs (23 kg) independently, ability to assist clients with standing, walking, and sitting; ability to reposition clients in bed.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR.
  • Updated immunization records (including completion of a two-step tuberculosis test within the last 6 months).
  • Clear Vulnerable sector checks are required upon hire.
  • Ability to interact with others in a caring, tactful, and courteous manner.
  • Excellent problem-solving, time management, and crisis-resolution skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Valid G2/G driver's license and access to a reliable car. This position requires daily travel of more than 1 hour, so 100% must have a vehicle.
  • Ability to use phone applications.
