Job Title: Unit Manager

Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Unit Manager to lead our patient care units. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and operational management to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership and operational management to patient care units
  • Develop and implement clinical practice quality improvements
  • Lead the implementation of provincial, zone, and local clinical and operational priorities and initiatives
  • Coach and mentor team members to achieve comprehensive and integrated care planning
  • Ensure high-quality patient care through clinical leadership, mentoring, coaching, and performance management of staff
Requirements:
  • Strong clinical nursing skills with experience in clinical practice, leadership, facilitation, coaching, people management, change management, and quality improvement
  • Knowledge of acute care and Alberta's healthcare structure
  • Active registration with CARNA and current BCLS-HCP certification
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with experience in critical care, emergency, and observation room settings
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, such as Charge Nurse, Nurse Educator, or Professional Practice Lead
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
