Job Summary

The York Catholic District School Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Principal to lead our Elementary School Fall Programs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for fostering a Catholic Learning Community, promoting academic excellence, and providing exceptional leadership to our students, teachers, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective instructional strategies to improve student achievement
  • Provide guidance and support to teachers and staff to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with school administrators and district staff to align curriculum and instructional practices with Board policies and initiatives
  • Manage and supervise school operations, including budgeting, facilities, and personnel
  • Communicate effectively with parents, students, and the community to promote Catholic education and values

Requirements

  • Ontario School Principal's Qualifications Parts I/II as per Ontario Regulation 176/10 (Teachers' Qualifications) made under the Ontario College of Teachers' Act
  • A minimum of one (1) year in the role of Principal
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well in a team, motivate others, and build Catholic learning communities of faith
  • Previous experience as a school administrator in the Continuing Education program is considered an asset
  • Strategic problem-solving and systems thinking skills, with the ability to handle complex problems and manage stress effectively
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills
  • Part III of the Religious Education Course (equivalency or commitment to completion of same or another approved program)
  • Special Education Part 1 Course or the Special Education for Administrators AQ Course

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Elementary and/or Saturday/Summer/Night School experience
  • Specialized training and strong working knowledge of G-Suite, D2L, online Video facilitation
  • Strong humanitarian and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well in a team, motivate others, and build Catholic Learning communities of faith
  • Expert knowledge of best practices in instructional strategies, student assessment and evaluation, and the improvement of student achievement in schools
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills
