Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Operator to join our team at Gottardo Group of Companies. As a Building Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems to ensure the property remains safe and operational.
  • Tenant Service Calls: Respond to service calls from tenants in a timely and professional manner, addressing issues such as lighting, heating, and cooling.
  • Property Appearance and Safety: Oversee the appearance and safety of the property, ensuring it meets the highest standards.
  • Building Automation and Security: Operate and maintain building automation and security systems, including computer systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions or recommendations to resolve problems.
  • Subcontractor Management: Oversee subcontractors and ensure they adhere to building guidelines and regulations.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the Operations Supervisor and Property Management team on building and tenant issues.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Work staggered hours, including weekends, statutory holidays, and overtime as required, to meet the needs of building occupants.
  • Hands-On Maintenance: Perform hands-on general cleaning, plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and HVAC repairs, as well as other miscellaneous tasks as required.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Experience in Building Operations: Minimum 3 years of experience in building operations, preferably in a commercial or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of Safety and Fire Codes: Familiarity with safety and fire codes, as well as WHMIS procedures.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication Skills: Proactive in identifying problems and resolving them, with excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Team Player: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
