Job Summary:

The Mechanical Superintendent role at MyGreat Recruitment demands a certified tradesperson with over 5 years of supervisory experience in mechanical and structural projects. Key qualifications include strong leadership, proficiency in technical drawings, and effective project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead daily operations and oversee the execution of work activities during the project.
  2. Mentor and coach General Foremen and Foremen to develop their skills and expertise.
  3. Ensure that appropriate planning, scheduling, and objectives are set for the execution of work activities during the project.
  4. Supervise activities, manpower, materials, and equipment associated with the operation of the project site during the scheduled work shift.
  5. Work in various conditions, including heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid environments.
  6. Work in a portable trailer on client sites with adequate lighting and temperature.
  7. Collaborate with site leadership to lead crews and oversee daily activities on site.

Requirements:

  1. Hold certification as a certified Millwright or Pipefitter journey-person and be a member (or willing to join) of their respective union, local 2736 or 170.
  2. 5+ years of mechanical & structural field, project, and supervisory experience.
  3. 5+ years of proven experience directing the work of others.
  4. Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints.
  5. Proficient in MS Office Suite and other technology resources.
  6. Ability to manage conflicting priorities and work within tight deadlines.
  7. Demonstrated strong and collaborative leadership skills.
  8. Ability to lead and direct up to 30 tradespeople per shift with safety and quality support.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Additional certifications in project management or mechanical engineering.
  2. Experience in working with diverse teams and environments.
  3. Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems beyond the core requirements.
  4. Previous experience in a similar role within the construction or engineering sectors.
  5. Familiarity with safety regulations and the ability to conduct safety briefings.
