YOUR ROLE
The Kruger Kamloops Pulp Mill is seeking a highly skilled Power Engineer to join our Power and Recovery department.
New employees undergo a comprehensive three-day orientation and receive extensive safety and job-specific training. Schedules typically involve 12-hour shifts on a 4 on, 4 off rotation, with two-day shifts followed by two-night shifts and four days off.
The starting wage is $34.72 per hour, with opportunities to develop new skills and increase wages by training up the departmental lines of progression. This permanent full-time position involves shift work, manual labor, and equipment operation.
Power and Recovery is responsible for recovering chemicals used to turn wood chips into pulp and generating power to support the mill.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
The Entry-Level position offers variety in the work performed, including indoor and outdoor tasks. Common duties include:
Equipment operation involving a vacuum truck, forklift, Bobcat, etc.
Pre-start checks and operation of equipment
Area clean-up
Ensuring processes and equipment run safely
YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong problem-solving & analytical skills, excellent judgment
Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands;
Detail-oriented;

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
4th Class (or higher) Power Engineering Certification
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Class 5 Driver's License or eligibility to drive in Canada
Experience working in a safety-sensitive industrial environment
Previous related experience an asset
