About the Position:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Field Services team at Technica Mining. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and maintaining our high standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support local projects across our Northern Ontario work sites, providing technical expertise and assistance as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical failures of motorized equipment, using your strong diagnostic skills to identify and resolve issues.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure it meets manufacturers' specifications, maintaining the highest standards of quality.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date service logs and documentation, providing valuable insights into equipment performance and maintenance needs.
  • Order parts as required to complete repairs, working efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Follow daily line-ups and execute scheduled work in accordance with health and safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications:
  • 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician - minimum level 3 or;
  • Licensed 310T Truck and Coach Technician or;
  • Licensed 310S Automotive Service Technician
  • Basic Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core (U0000, U0001, U0002, & U00012) or equivalent provincial designation is preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years' underground experience is preferred
  • Strong technical aptitude to use digital platforms used for work orders, email, etc.
  • High level of self-motivation and autonomy
  • Ability to work as a team and independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment
  • Ability to commute to work (may include travel throughout Ontario)
Schedule:
  • Monday to Thursday (Days) - Must be willing and able to work night shift and weekends if required
