Job Title: Underground Blaster Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Underground Blaster Assistant to join our team at Canadian Royalties. As a key member of our mining operations, you will be responsible for assisting the blaster in executing blasting work and other tasks requiring the use of explosives.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute all assigned explosive loading tasks as directed by the lead blaster, in compliance with current standards and regulations;
  • Assist the blaster in executing blasting work or any other task requiring the use of explosives;
  • Prepare the site for the driller;
  • Maintain inventory tracking of explosive and non-explosive products;
  • Perform equipment inspections before and after each shift;
  • If required, assume the responsibilities of the blaster;
  • As needed, perform any other tasks requested by the supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Have the skill to operate a CAT AD30 mining truck, a CAT 420F backhoe, and a Jeep Land Cruiser boom truck;
  • Possess a General Explosives Permit;
  • Have obtained a high school diploma;
  • Familiarity with electronic initiation systems is an asset;
  • Possess mining modules FMTM 1 to 5 and 7;
  • Have 0 to 2 years of experience;
  • Due to frequent interactions with French-speaking team members, bilingualism (French/English) is an asset to facilitate and improve internal communications.
