Position Overview
The Maintenance Supervisor role is crucial for overseeing and directing the efforts of both skilled and unskilled maintenance personnel. This position ensures adherence to proper methods and procedures for the upkeep, repair, and servicing of equipment, buildings, and facilities, all while complying with relevant building codes and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise maintenance staff to ensure effective employee relations and address any concerns or issues that arise.
- Conduct performance evaluations for all maintenance team members.
- Ensure the availability of necessary parts and supplies for maintenance tasks.
- Oversee all preventative maintenance and project development activities.
- Maintain IFS software and manage all related documentation.
- Coordinate with contractors for quotes in collaboration with the maintenance buyer.
- Act as the department champion to ensure all contractors possess the required documentation.
- Review completed inspection forms to confirm that all maintenance, repair, and inspection tasks have been performed satisfactorily.
- Analyze assembly drawings to identify required parts and their assembly.
- Establish work schedules and prioritize tasks to address emergencies and changes in plans.
- Develop and monitor comprehensive overhaul, repair, and preventative maintenance schedules for tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Manage and oversee operating and project budgets.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid electrician license (309A or 442A).
- Additional journeyperson trade certification in a relevant field is considered an asset.
- Completion of secondary education or equivalent.
- MMP (Maintenance Management Professional) certification is a plus.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a maintenance machining environment, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft and other relevant software applications.
- Familiarity with fire alarm systems, including sprinklers and Ontario fire code.
- Experience using Pareto analysis for failure diagnostics.
